28-Year-Old Labourer Arrested for Murder of Friend from Same Village in Vasai
Vasai Murder: Labourer held for killing friend from village

In a grim incident of violence between acquaintances, the Crime Branch Unit 2 in Vasai has made a significant arrest in connection with the murder of a man whose body was discovered last Thursday. The accused, identified as a 28-year-old labourer, allegedly killed a man from his own native village.

Arrest Made in Waliv Body Discovery Case

The investigation began after the dead body of an unknown person was found on Thursday within the jurisdiction of the Waliv police. Through diligent efforts, the deceased was later identified as Tata Heabrom. The breakthrough in the case led the police to focus on a close associate of the victim.

Acting swiftly, the Crime Branch unit arrested Kushan Heabrom, a 28-year-old resident of Jharkhand who worked as a labourer. The police revealed that the two men were not strangers; they hailed from the same village and maintained a routine of meeting each other once every week to share food and drinks.

Motive and Method of the Crime

According to the police probe, the motive for the brutal attack stemmed from a previous rivalry that had left the accused, Kushan Heabrom, deeply unhappy. This lingering resentment culminated in violence during their meeting on the fateful Thursday.

The police stated that during their encounter, the accused attacked Tata Heabrom with a sharp weapon, killing him on the spot. The location of the crime was a secluded area, and the assault took place under the cover of darkness, factors the murderer believed would conceal his identity.

Failed Assumption and Swift Justice

Following the murder, Kushan Heabrom reportedly returned to his work at a construction site in Naigaon, operating under the assumption that no one would suspect him. He believed the dark and isolated nature of the crime scene would shield him from detection.

However, the Waliv police and Crime Branch, leveraging technical assistance and investigative methods, were able to piece together the evidence and identify him as the prime suspect. His assumption of safety proved incorrect, leading to his swift apprehension. The accused has now been formally taken into custody and charged with murder.

The case highlights how personal disputes can turn deadly and underscores the effectiveness of modern investigative techniques in solving crimes, even when perpetrators believe they have committed the perfect crime in hidden locations.
