UP Government Launches Special Probe into Techie's Tragic Drowning
The Uttar Pradesh government has taken decisive action following a heartbreaking incident in Greater Noida. On Monday, authorities formed a three-member Special Investigative Team to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the death of a 27-year-old software professional.
The young man lost his life after his vehicle plunged into a deep pit filled with water in Sector 150 of Greater Noida. This swift response from the state administration came after the victim's family members raised serious concerns about administrative failures that might have contributed to the tragedy.
Chief Minister Takes Immediate Notice
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally took notice of the distressing accident. Acting on the CM's direct instructions, the government established the investigative team under the leadership of the Additional Director General of Police for the Meerut Zone.
The SIT includes two other senior officials:
- The Divisional Commissioner of Meerut
- The Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department
This high-level team has received clear directives to complete their investigation within five days. They must submit their detailed findings directly to the Chief Minister's Office.
Family Alleges Critical Delays in Rescue
The victim's father has made disturbing allegations about the response to the accident. He claims his son remained trapped in the submerged vehicle for approximately two hours while bystanders mostly watched and some even recorded videos instead of helping.
"My son was crying out for help, asking people to save him," the grieving father stated. "He struggled desperately to survive during those two hours. The officials present at the scene lacked proper equipment like divers, and their efforts proved completely inadequate."
The family firmly believes that prompt, organized rescue efforts could have prevented this loss of life. They point to what they describe as clear negligence on the part of local administration and emergency responders.
Police Provide Initial Accident Details
According to police reports, the tragic incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Knowledge Park Police Station. The accident happened during the late night hours spanning January 16 and 17.
Investigators say the victim, identified as Yuvraj, was driving his car through the Sector 150 crossing when the vehicle crashed through the edge of a drainage structure. The car then plunged into the water-filled pit, leading to the fatal drowning.
The formation of the Special Investigative Team represents a significant step toward addressing the family's concerns and determining exactly what went wrong during the rescue attempt. The state government appears determined to uncover any administrative lapses and ensure accountability for this preventable tragedy.
