In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a dedicated Shiksha-Mitra was brutally shot dead inside her residence in Gokulpur village. The tragic event occurred under the jurisdiction of the Asoha police station area in Unnao district, late on Tuesday night. The local police have swiftly responded by sending the body for a detailed post-mortem examination and registering a First Information Report (FIR) for murder against unknown persons, based on a formal complaint lodged by the grieving husband.

According to preliminary police reports, the fatal bullet was fired from the front, striking the right side of the victim's chest. The family members were abruptly awakened by the loud sound of gunfire, only to discover the horrifying scene. Senior police officials, including SP Jayprakash Singh, CO Tej Bahadur Singh, and SO Phool Singh, promptly arrived at the crime scene the same night. Victim's Identity and Family Background
The deceased has been identified as Shrikanti (39), the wife of Omkar Rawat and a long-time resident of Gokulpur village. She had been serving as a Shiksha-Mitra in the Basic Government School for more than a decade, dedicating her life to the education of young minds. Shrikanti lived at home with her husband and their 13-year-old daughter, Riya. Her elder son, Raunak, was pursuing his studies while staying with his maternal grandfather in Korari Kala village, which falls under the Achalganj police station area.
Eyewitness Account and Immediate Aftermath
Daughter Riya provided a harrowing account of the incident, revealing that her mother had woken up at 1 am to answer nature's call when she was shot. "When we reached after hearing the sound of gunfire, her blood-soaked body was lying on the cot," Riya recounted with evident distress. Upon receiving information about the murder, Rajendra, the brother-in-law who lived in the neighbourhood, rushed to the spot and immediately informed the police, setting the investigative process in motion.
Police Investigation and Suspicions
In a surprising twist, the police have indicated that the family had no known disputes with anyone outside the household. This has led investigators to suspect that someone from within the family may have been involved in the murder. The deceased's husband, Omkar Rawat, is engaged in farming, adding a layer of complexity to the ongoing probe. Station Officer Phool Singh emphasized, "Based on the husband's complaint, an FIR was registered against unknown persons and the body was sent for postmortem examination.
