According to police reports, the man strangled his wife to death. He then hanged himself from a hook on the wall behind their house using a rope. The bodies were discovered by the man's mother, who rushed to the spot after hearing screams. She found both her son and daughter-in-law dead.

Background of the Couple

The deceased have been identified as Sanjay Gupta, aged 42, and his wife Vandana, aged 38. They resided in the Naunihal Ganj locality under the Bangarmau police station. Sanjay worked as an e-rickshaw driver and lived with his wife and mother. He was known to be addicted to alcohol.

Sanjay's mother, Siya Dulari, revealed that her son often beat his wife after consuming liquor. He would get angry over Vandana talking too much on the phone. The couple had a fight on Wednesday evening as well, which police believe led to the fatal incident.

Circle Officer Santosh Singh and Station Officer Akhilesh Pandey promptly reached the scene. They conducted a thorough investigation into the matter. The bodies have been sent for postmortem to determine the exact causes of death.
