Police officials reported that the tragedy unfolded around 5:20 PM on Thursday. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital informed authorities that two men had been brought in dead with severe injuries. Preliminary investigations revealed the injuries resulted from a catastrophic lift failure.

The deceased workers have been identified as Hariom, aged 32, who resided in Samaypur, and Sanjay Mishra, aged 45, a resident of Siraspur in North Delhi. Both men worked for Neha Enterprises, the ceramic crockery manufacturing unit where the accident occurred.

How the Accident Happened

According to police statements, the two workers entered a lift designed for transporting goods between different floors of the factory. While they were inside, the lift's cable suddenly snapped. This caused the lift to plunge downward with tremendous force.

The workers sustained grievous injuries during the fall. They died while being transported to the hospital for emergency medical treatment. Factory management immediately sealed the premises following the tragic event.

Legal Action and Investigation

Samaypur Badli police station has registered a formal case in connection with the deaths. The case invokes specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police filed charges under Section 106(1), which addresses death caused by negligence. They also applied Section 289, which deals with negligent conduct concerning machinery. These legal provisions highlight the serious nature of the incident and suggest potential safety lapses.

Authorities continue their investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the lift failure. They will examine maintenance records, safety protocols, and equipment conditions at the factory.
