A devastating road accident on Tuesday evening resulted in the immediate deaths of two 18-year-old students in Siruguppa taluk of Ballari district. The fatal collision occurred between a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) bus and a motorcycle on the national highway near Honnuramma M Siddappa Government First Grade College in Tekkalkote.
Details of the Deceased and the Incident
The victims have been identified as Shivalingamma, aged 18, a first-year BA student at Guru Maharshi College, and Abhilash, also 18, a final-year computer science student at SES Diploma College. Both young individuals were residents of Kuruvalli village, adding to the local community's grief.
According to preliminary police reports, the tragedy unfolded when Abhilash was riding the motorcycle with Shivalingamma as his pillion rider. Shivalingamma had recently completed her undergraduate examination at Siddappa City Government First Grade College. Simultaneously, a KKRTC bus traveling from Siruguppa to Ballari was passing along the same stretch of the national highway.
