Two Minor Siblings Rescued by Police from Tupudana
Ranchi: Two minor siblings, who had left their Jagannathpur-based residence on Monday, were rescued by the police from Tupudana on Wednesday, police said. The children, identified as Yuvansh Mahto (6) and Roshni Kumari (10), had left home in Patel Nagar Sector-1 under Jagannathpur police station limits on Monday after being scolded by their mother for playing in the sun.
Acting on a complaint lodged by their father, Chiranjeev Kumar Mahto, Jagannathpur police registered a case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on Tuesday and launched an investigation. The police utilized multiple resources to trace the missing children.
“Using CCTV footage, technical inputs, and intelligence gathering, personnel from several police stations and outposts conducted raids across multiple locations. On Wednesday, the children were traced and recovered safely from a church at Chand village under Tupudana area. They were handed over to their family members,” said Ranchi (city) SP Paras Rana.
The rescue operation involved coordination between various police units. The children were found in good health and were reunited with their relieved parents. Authorities have advised parents to ensure supervision of young children and to address disciplinary matters with care.
