Two Men Hacked to Death After Confronting Rash Bikers in Tiruvallur

A violent altercation over reckless motorcycle riding turned deadly in Tiruvallur on Friday night. Two men lost their lives, and another fights for survival in critical condition. Police have swiftly arrested four individuals, including office-bearers from political parties, in connection with the brutal attack.

Heated Argument Escalates into Deadly Violence

The tragic incident unfolded near a bakery in Tiruvallur. Three friends, residents of Ondikuppam, were standing there after returning from a Pongal trip to Kona Falls in Andhra Pradesh. Two men on motorcycles, identified as Jyotish, 34, and Vinothkumar, 36, rode past at high speed in a rash manner.

The victims questioned the bikers about their dangerous riding. This led to a heated argument between the groups. Tempers flared, and the confrontation set the stage for the horrific events that followed later that night.

Premeditated Attack with Sharp Weapons

Jyotish and Vinothkumar did not let the matter rest. They gathered their associates, including Neelakandan, 30, a BSP functionary, and Jawahar, 23, a TVK office-bearer. The group went searching for the three men they had argued with earlier.

At around 10 PM, they found Parthiban, 32, Sugumar, 31, and Kesavamoorthy, 23, stepping out of a hotel in Tiruvallur. The gang immediately surrounded them. They began pelting stones and then launched a vicious attack using sharp weapons.

Parthiban collapsed on the spot and died from his injuries. Sugumar and Kesavamoorthy sustained severe wounds in the assault.

Victims Rushed to Hospital, One Succumbs

Authorities rushed Sugumar and Kesavamoorthy to the Tiruvallur Government General Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, Sugumar, who suffered grave injuries, died following a cardiac arrest. Kesavamoorthy remains in critical condition, battling for his life in the hospital.

Police Action and Arrests

Tiruvallur police registered cases for murder and attempted murder. They acted quickly and nabbed all four accused: Neelakandan, Jyotish, Vinothkumar, and Jawahar.

During their attempt to escape, Neelakandan fractured his right leg and Jawahar fractured his right hand. Police provided them with necessary medical treatment. After receiving care, the accused were produced before a magistrate on Saturday. The court remanded them to judicial custody.

Investigation Concludes No Further Involvement

SP Vivekananda Shukla stated that police have arrested all individuals involved in the violence. He confirmed that no other persons participated in the attack. The investigation indicates the incident resulted directly from the initial argument over rash biking, with no broader conspiracy or additional suspects at large.

This case highlights how a minor roadside dispute can tragically escalate into fatal violence, leading to profound loss and legal consequences for all involved parties.
