Tragic Road Accidents in Gurgaon Result in Two Deaths on Wednesday

In a devastating series of events, Gurgaon witnessed two separate fatal road accidents on Wednesday, claiming the lives of a cyclist and a motorcyclist. The incidents highlight ongoing concerns about traffic safety and reckless driving in the region.

Cyclist Struck by Speeding Car Near Gwal Pahari

A 53-year-old cyclist, identified as Ram Shankar, was killed after a speeding car hit him on the Gurgaon-Faridabad road near Gwal Pahari on Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred between 2 pm and 3 pm while Shankar was returning home after getting a haircut in the area.

According to a complaint filed by his son, Anish Kumar, a Wagon-R car with a Haryana registration number struck Shankar from behind. The impact caused critical injuries, and Shankar was rushed to BK Civil Hospital in Faridabad, where doctors declared him brought dead upon arrival.

Shankar, a native of Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh, had been living as a tenant in Baliawas with his family. Police reported that the driver, Naveen Kumar, identified himself at the scene. After receiving information from the hospital, a police team reached the facility and placed the body in the mortuary.

Following the complaint, authorities registered a case at DLF Phase-1 police station under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused, a resident of Nilauti village in Nangloi, was arrested but later released on bail.

Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Incident in IMT Manesar

In another tragic incident, a 43-year-old man named Rajesh died after his motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Sector 7 in IMT Manesar on Wednesday night. The accident took place around 9:30 pm while Rajesh was returning home after duty.

Rajesh worked at a private firm in IMT Manesar and lived in Bhangrola village. According to a complaint filed by his son, Raj, an unknown vehicle, driven at high speed and in a rash manner, collided with his motorcycle and fled the spot without stopping.

He was taken to Silver Streak Hospital in Sector 87, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police have registered a case at Sector 7 IMT Manesar police station under Sections 281 and 106(1) of the BNS against the unknown driver, who remains at large.

Police Response and Legal Actions

Both cases underscore the severe consequences of rash driving and negligence on Gurgaon's roads. The use of BNS sections in these incidents reflects the legal framework addressing such offenses, with one driver apprehended and another evading capture.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding both accidents, emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and improved road safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
