Two Die in Flyover Fall in North Delhi

NEW DELHI: Two young men riding a motorcycle died after they fell off a flyover into a drain along the Wazirabad-bound loop road near Majlis Park Metro Station in north Delhi on Sunday night, police said.

Accident Details

The accident occurred around 9 pm on April 26 on the outer stretch of the flyover. A PCR call alerted authorities, following which a team from Bhalswa Dairy police station reached the spot. A white motorcycle was found abandoned near the drain below, indicating the riders had fallen from the elevated road into it.

Victims Shifted to Hospital

Enquiries revealed that the injured men had already been shifted to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital by passersby. However, doctors declared both “brought dead” on arrival.

The deceased were identified as Saf Ali (20), a resident of Sangam Vihar in Burari, and Shahid, a resident of JJ Colony, Bawana.

Legal Action and Investigation

Police said the bodies have been preserved at the hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death due to negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. With no eyewitnesses coming forward so far, the exact sequence of events leading to the fall remains unclear, cops said. Further investigation has been handed over to the MACT Cell of Outer North district.
