In a shocking incident of violence, two brothers were shot dead in Northeast Delhi's Jafrabad area late on Monday night. The police have pointed to personal enmity as the primary motive behind the brutal killings.
Chilling Details of the Nighttime Attack
The tragic event unfolded in the Chauhan Bangar area around 1:40 am on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. According to law enforcement officials, a group of four to five assailants overpowered the two brothers, Faizal (31) and Nadeem (33), near their residence and opened fire on them.
Faizal succumbed to multiple bullet injuries on the spot. Family members rushed both brothers to JPC Hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival. The elder brother of the deceased, Wasim, has made a grave allegation, claiming he spotted a relative among the attackers.
Relative Allegedly Among Attackers
Wasim identified the alleged perpetrator as their aunt's son, who lives in the vicinity. "He was present among the attackers at the time of the incident," Wasim stated. He revealed that this relative had previously threatened the brothers, and a compromise had been reached in the presence of the relative's parents. "Despite that, he killed my brothers," Wasim alleged.
He further shared that the relative used to spend time with Nadeem, but their relationship had deteriorated over the past few months. Adding to the tragedy, Wasim mentioned that Nadeem was 85% physically challenged and could not walk.
Police Investigation and Legal Action
Preliminary investigations suggest that both groups often clashed over supremacy in the area. The Jafrabad police station has registered a case under sections 103(1)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and 25/27 of the Arms Act.
An active investigation is now underway. Police teams have collected CCTV footage from the crime scene and have been deployed to identify and apprehend the accused persons. No arrests have been made so far. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
