Two Men Arrested for Killing CSC Operator in Jamshedpur
Police in Jamshedpur have made a significant breakthrough in a murder case that shocked the local community. Two men were arrested on Wednesday for the killing of Tarapada Mahato, a common service centre (CSC) operator. The incident occurred at his kiosk under the Galudih police station limits just a day earlier.
Arrests Made in Vehicle Checking Drive
Rishabha Garg, the Superintendent of Police (Rural), confirmed the arrests. The police nabbed the suspects during a routine vehicle checking drive within the MGM police station area. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.
The arrested men have been identified as Vikas Dubey, also known as Rahul, and Abhishek Kumar, alias Happy. Both are 21 years old. They confessed to their involvement in the crime during police interrogation. Following their confession, authorities sent them to jail to await further legal proceedings.
Land Dispute Led to Fatal Attack
According to police statements, the murder stemmed from a long-standing land dispute. Tarapada Mahato had an ongoing enmity with a man named Jitendra Dubey over a piece of disputed land. This conflict had escalated in recent months.
In a previous development, Jitendra Dubey was arrested and jailed based on a First Information Report (FIR) filed by Tarapada. This action appears to have triggered the fatal retaliation.
Initial investigations point to a plot orchestrated by Jitendra Dubey's family members. They allegedly hired Vikas and Abhishek to carry out the murder. The police recovered a firearm from the arrested duo, which is believed to be the weapon used in the crime.
Ongoing Investigation and Possible More Arrests
The police are not treating this case as closed. SP Rishabha Garg indicated that the investigation is still very much active. Officers are pursuing all leads to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.
More arrests are likely as the probe continues. Authorities are examining the roles of other individuals who may have been involved in planning or facilitating the murder. The police are committed to ensuring all responsible parties face justice.
This tragic event has highlighted the dangers that can arise from property disputes. It serves as a grim reminder of how such conflicts can turn violent. The local community in Jamshedpur is mourning the loss of Tarapada Mahato, who was a known figure operating the CSC kiosk.
