The arrested persons have been identified as Ubaid, aged 34, and Hashi, aged 37, both residents of Nedumpana. According to police reports, the incident stemmed from a road accident involving Abdul Razak, a native of Kulappadam. On Tuesday evening, Razak sustained injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car at Kannanallur and was subsequently brought to Holy Cross Hospital by local residents for emergency care. Shortly after his arrival, the injured youth's father and a group of friends reached the hospital premises, leading to a heated confrontation with the attending doctor.
The argument escalated quickly as the group accused the doctor of unnecessarily delaying Razak's treatment, despite the medical team's efforts to provide timely care. In a fit of rage, they allegedly physically assaulted the doctor, causing a chaotic scene in the emergency ward. When hospital security staff intervened to de-escalate the situation and protect the medical personnel, the aggressive gang turned their violence towards them, resulting in further injuries and disruption.
