In a significant breakthrough, the Noida Police on Friday arrested two men wanted in connection with the brutal assault and murder of a gym trainer in Dadri's Kamerala village. The arrests followed a brief exchange of gunfire on the Jarcha road.
Encounter and Arrest on Jarcha Road
Acting on specific intelligence about the movement of the accused, a police team intercepted them. The wanted individuals were identified as Anuj from Chakrasenpur village and Saksham Sharma from Uncha Hamirpur. When signaled to stop, they allegedly tried to flee and opened fire at the police personnel, prompting the officers to retaliate in self-defense.
Both accused sustained gunshot injuries during the encounter and were subsequently apprehended. From their possession, the police recovered two country-made pistols, several live and spent cartridges, and a motorcycle.
Wanted Duo with Criminal History
Officials revealed that the arrested duo each carried a reward of Rs 25,000 announced for their capture. Both have multiple criminal cases registered against them, highlighting their involvement in serious crimes.
Their arrests are directly linked to a violent road rage incident that occurred on January 4. The case involves the death of a 30-year-old gym trainer and recovery agent named Harkesh, who was beaten to death. His friend, Mohit, was also critically injured in the same attack.
Details of the January 4 Road Rage Incident
According to the police investigation, the tragic episode began when Harkesh and Mohit objected to a group of youths who were drinking alcohol on the road and had parked a car in the middle of the street, blocking traffic. What started as a verbal argument quickly spiraled into a vicious physical assault. The group allegedly attacked the two men with brutal force, leaving Harkesh with fatal injuries.
An FIR in the case was registered based on the complaint filed by Mohit's cousin. With the latest arrests, the total number of people held in connection with the murder has now reached six. Earlier, police had taken two suspects, both named Prashant, into custody on January 6. This was followed by the arrest of two more individuals, Sonu and Harsh, the very next day.
The police action demonstrates a continued effort to bring all perpetrators involved in the heinous crime to justice, providing some measure of relief to the victim's family and the local community shaken by the violence.
