Two Apparent Suicides in Gurgaon Under Police Scrutiny
In a tragic series of events, Gurgaon police are investigating two separate incidents where young individuals were found dead in their residences under suspicious circumstances. The cases, which occurred in Sohna and Sector 66, have raised concerns and are currently under detailed examination by authorities.
Woman Found Hanging in Sohna Residential Society
On Monday morning, a 26-year-old woman identified as Kiran was discovered hanging inside her seventh-floor rented apartment in tower 4 of GLS Society, located in the Sohna area of Gurgaon. Kiran, who was employed with a private company in the Rojka Meo industrial area, shared the flat with her brother, Akash.
According to police reports, Kiran and her brother had attended a wedding on Sunday and returned home in the evening. She subsequently retired to her room to sleep. The following morning around 8 AM, Akash entered her room and made the grim discovery. He immediately contacted their uncle, who then alerted the police.
A police team promptly arrived at the location. No suicide note was found at the scene, according to an officer involved in the investigation. Kiran's body was transported to the civil hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have confirmed that an investigation is actively underway to determine the precise circumstances that led to her untimely death.
Man Found Dead in Sector 66 Rented Room
In a separate and equally distressing incident, a 22-year-old man named Yogesh was found hanging inside his rented room in Sector 66 on Sunday evening. Yogesh, originally from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, worked for a private company and resided with his partner, Gayatri, who is employed as a domestic helper.
Police suspect that mental distress may have been a contributing factor in this case. On Sunday, Yogesh remained at home while Gayatri went to work. When she returned around 7:30 PM, she found the room locked from the inside. After repeated attempts to get a response failed, she sought assistance from neighbors, who forced open the door to find Yogesh hanging.
The police were informed and a team reached the spot, conducting a thorough examination with the help of forensic and fingerprint experts. Similar to the first case, no suicide note was recovered from the premises.
During the subsequent inquiry, Yogesh's maternal uncle revealed that he had limited contact with his family in recent months. Additionally, police learned that Yogesh had traveled to his village two days prior but returned midway, appearing visibly disturbed afterward.
An officer stated that the autopsy was performed on Monday, and the body has been handed over to the family. Statements have been recorded and the case is being examined from multiple angles. Preliminary findings suggest that Yogesh was under significant mental distress at the time of his death.
