Mira Bhayandar Murder Case Cracked with Arrest of TV Actor
The Mira Road police have successfully cracked the brutal murder case of a househelp with the arrest of Ashish Meshram, a small-time television serial actor. Meshram was apprehended at a railway station in Visakhapatnam, bringing a swift conclusion to the investigation into the stabbing death that occurred inside a third-floor flat at Chandresh Accord housing society.
Details of the Gruesome Crime
On Wednesday night, Ashish Meshram allegedly stabbed 37-year-old domestic worker Suman Kamble multiple times in the neck, chest, and stomach before fleeing the scene. The Mira Road police immediately dispatched multiple teams to trace and arrest the prime suspect once his identity was established.
Senior police officials noted that Meshram's entry and exit from the society were executed with alarming speed, suggesting the crime was a premeditated move. The actual sequence of events will become clearer once the accused, currently on transit remand, arrives in the city by this weekend for thorough interrogation.
History of Harassment and Threats
Police investigations have confirmed that Meshram had repeatedly demanded sexual favors from Suman Kamble over an extended period, all of which she consistently refused. This pattern of harassment created a dangerous environment that ultimately culminated in violence.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Meshram escalated his threats in January when he called Kamble's second son, who later became the complainant in the case. During this call, Meshram threatened to kill Kamble if she stopped working at his flat or continued rejecting his sexual advances.
Family Confrontation and False Assurances
When Kamble's son confronted his mother about the threats, she finally revealed her ordeal to her family. She explained that she had stopped working at Meshram's residence specifically because of his persistent demands for sexual favors. Enraged by this revelation, the son went looking for Meshram but couldn't find him at the flat.
A few days later, when the son spotted Meshram in Mira Road, he physically assaulted the actor and warned him to stay away from his mother. Following this incident, Meshram's older brother assured Kamble that his brother no longer lived with him and encouraged her to resume work at their residence.
Tragic Final Encounter
On the fateful Wednesday night, when Suman Kamble returned to the flat for work, Ashish Meshram entered the premises and allegedly carried out the murder. The victim had been working at Meshram's house for approximately three years, though initially only Meshram's elder brother occupied the flat where the crime occurred. Meshram had moved in about a year and a half prior to the incident.
Victim's Background and Surviving Family
Suman Kamble is survived by her husband and four children who reside in the Kashimira area of Mira Road. Her husband works as a cobbler while the eldest son is employed with a private firm. To support her family, Kamble worked diligently in eight to nine households as a domestic helper, demonstrating her dedication to providing for her loved ones.
The Mira Road police's swift action in tracking down and arresting the suspect across state lines demonstrates their commitment to solving violent crimes and bringing perpetrators to justice. The case highlights the vulnerabilities faced by domestic workers and the importance of addressing workplace harassment before it escalates to tragedy.
