The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Babulal, a resident of Talwaria village. According to Khandwa SP Manoj Rai, the group was returning from a wedding ceremony at Thukra Devla village when the accident happened. Among the injured, 14 are reported to be in critical condition and have been referred to MY Hospital in Indore for advanced medical care. The remaining victims are undergoing treatment at Khandwa district hospital, with many suffering serious head injuries and fractures.

Eyewitnesses and survivors have provided statements suggesting that two trucks were allegedly racing at the time of the accident. Some locals reported that the vehicle collided with another truck, causing the side glass to shatter and the driver to lose control.
