Police identified the suspect as Gangai Amaran, a resident of Kamanaicken Palayam, and the victim as Senthil Nathan, 40, from Appachi Nagar. Senthil, who ran a garment firm in Tirupur, agreed to the meeting, unaware of the deadly intent.
Upon meeting, the duo quickly escalated into a heated argument over their ancestral property. In a violent outburst, Gangai stabbed Senthil in the neck with a knife he had brought with him. The attack was so severe that Senthil reportedly stumbled down the stairs and collapsed on the third floor of the lodge, where he succumbed to his injuries.
