Three Young Men Killed in Tragic Hit-and-Run Incident in Udham Singh Nagar
A devastating hit-and-run accident near Gaurikhera village in Sitarganj, Udham Singh Nagar, claimed the lives of three young men on Thursday. The incident occurred when a speeding vehicle allegedly grazed a cart carrying five youths, causing them to fall onto the road.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy
According to police reports, the five youths from Gaurikhera were traveling on the cart when the initial collision occurred. The impact caused them to be thrown onto the roadway. In a horrifying turn of events, a heavy vehicle approaching from behind then ran over three of the fallen individuals before fleeing the scene without stopping.
Victims Identified as Local Residents
The deceased have been identified as:
- Vijay Kumar, aged 22
- Ankit Singh, aged 20
- Pankaj, aged 21
All three victims were residents of Gaurikhera village. The tragic loss has left the local community in mourning.
Injured Survivors Receiving Medical Treatment
Of the two survivors, one sustained grievous injuries requiring transfer to a higher medical center for specialized care. The other individual escaped with minor bruises and is reportedly in stable condition. Medical authorities are closely monitoring both survivors.

BS Chauhan, Circle Officer of Sitarganj, confirmed that authorities have registered a case regarding the incident. "Efforts are currently underway to identify the vehicles involved in this tragic accident," Chauhan stated. Police are examining available CCTV footage from the area to trace both the initial vehicle that grazed the cart and the heavy vehicle that subsequently ran over the victims.
The investigation focuses on determining the exact sequence of events and identifying the drivers responsible for this fatal incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the vehicles or the accident to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
