Thieves steal Rs 3.2 lakh cash, jewellery from parked car

Ahmedabad: Unidentified men allegedly stole cash and jewellery valued at Rs 3.2 lakh from a parked car near a cafe on the SP Ring Road in Chandkheda, prompting a police complaint. The incident took place on the night of May 24.

Incident Details

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the complainant is a 37-year-old employee of a pharmaceutical company residing in Satellite. He had visited the cafe with his family around 9 pm and parked his car on the service road outside.

When the family returned to the vehicle at approximately 10:15 pm, they discovered that the driver-side window had been smashed. A grey handbag belonging to the complainant's wife, which had been left inside the car, was missing.

Stolen Items

The handbag contained a gold mangalsutra, two gold rings, a gold chain, a pendant and earring set, a pair of silver anklets, and Rs 2,000 in cash. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at Rs 3.2 lakh.

The complainant initially submitted an application at Chandkheda police station and later lodged a formal complaint. An investigation is underway.
