Thane Air Hostess Suicide: Ex-Partner Booked for Abetment After Family's Complaint
A tragic incident unfolded in Maharashtra's Thane district. A 21-year-old air hostess allegedly took her own life. Police have now registered a case against her former partner for abetment of suicide.
Discovery of the Tragedy
The young woman was found hanging at her residence in Kalyan (East) on December 28, 2025. Her mother grew worried when she failed to answer phone calls that night. A concerned neighbour then checked the house at Anusuya Niwas and discovered the grim scene.
She was immediately rushed to Rukminibai Hospital. Doctors at the hospital declared her dead upon arrival.
Police Investigation and FIR
The Kolsewadi police launched a thorough investigation. They examined the victim's mobile phone records and financial statements. Based on their findings and a formal complaint from the family, police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on January 10.
Officials booked the woman's 23-year-old former partner. The charges fall under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for abetment of suicide. Police are actively probing all aspects of the case.
Family's Allegations and Relationship Details
The victim's family provided crucial information to investigators. They stated the couple had been in a relationship since 2020. However, the situation turned deeply troubling in recent times.
The family made several serious allegations against the accused man:
- He allegedly threatened to make private photographs of the woman public.
- He refused to marry her despite their long-term relationship.
- He recently started a new relationship with another woman.
The family believes these actions created immense mental anguish. They allege this ultimately drove the air hostess to take the extreme step.
Evidence from Phone and Financial Records
After performing the last rites, the family scrutinised her personal records. They reported multiple grievances to the police based on this review.
Chat records extracted from her phone suggested a pattern of abuse. Marks on her body also indicated the accused frequently assaulted her physically.
Bank account statements revealed alarming financial transactions. The records showed the man took lakhs of rupees from her. He allegedly used the pretext of marriage to obtain these funds. The most recent transaction occurred on December 16, 2025, just days before her death.
Police are now corroborating all evidence as their investigation continues. The case highlights serious issues of emotional abuse and financial exploitation in relationships.
