According to official statements from railway authorities, the youths were standing dangerously close to the railway tracks, specifically near pillar number 234/31, situated between the Gulab Nagar railway crossing and Sathi railway station.
Sathi railway station superintendent Santosh Kumar provided crucial insights into the sequence of events. "Initial investigations and conversations with locals revealed that the Amrit Bharat Express was traveling from Muzaffarpur to Narkatiaganj at the time," he explained. "The two young men were actively engaged in making reels using their mobile phones, completely unaware of the imminent danger."

The situation turned catastrophic when another train approached on the opposite track, heading from Narkatiaganj to Muzaffarpur. "Seeing trains approaching simultaneously from both directions, the teenagers panicked and attempted to flee the area," Kumar stated. "Unfortunately, in their haste, they were struck by the Amrit Bharat Express, resulting in their immediate deaths."
Local residents described the aftermath as particularly gruesome, with reports indicating that both bodies were severely mutilated due to the impact.
