Major Security Breach at TATA Electronics Factory in Krishnagiri
In a brazen overnight incident, unidentified individuals infiltrated the TATA Electronics manufacturing facility located in the Vanniyapuram area near Rayakottai, within Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu. The attack occurred during the early hours of Saturday, resulting in the assault and restraint of two night security personnel on duty.
Guards Assaulted and Restrained
The victims have been identified as Gulbir Ahmed, aged 42 and hailing from Bihar, alongside K Saravanan, a 40-year-old resident of Ullakurukkai village situated close to Kelamangalam. Both guards were stationed at a separate building inside the expansive factory complex, which is dedicated to air conditioning operations. This specific unit handles the installation of new AC systems, servicing activities, and storage of related materials.
According to official police reports, the assailants not only attacked and tied up the guards using ropes but also made off with significant items. The stolen property includes a firearm that was in the possession of one guard, along with copper wires and other valuable materials from the premises.
Discovery and Police Response
The alarming situation came to light when passersby in the early morning noticed the two guards bound and helpless. These individuals promptly removed the ropes, freed the security personnel, and immediately alerted the Uddanapalli police station. "Police rushed to the spot and launched an intensive investigation into the matter," stated P Thangadurai, the Superintendent of Police for Krishnagiri district.
Law enforcement authorities from the Uddanapalli police station have since examined CCTV footage from cameras installed in the vicinity and are actively searching for the culprits responsible for this security breach. A formal case has been registered, and a comprehensive inquiry is now underway to apprehend the perpetrators.
Context and Factory Significance
This serious incident has caused considerable concern, particularly as it follows a previous controversial case involving a hidden camera discovered in the toilet of a women's hostel owned by the same TATA Electronics factory. The factory itself is a major employment hub in the region, providing jobs to over 60,000 workers. The latest event, involving the attack on guards, theft of a weapon, and pilfering of items, has further stirred the local community and raised questions about security protocols at industrial installations.
The investigation continues as police work to identify and capture those involved in this audacious factory intrusion and assault.
