Beautician Gunned Down in Broad Daylight

A shocking incident of violence unfolded in Punjab's Tarn Taran district on Saturday evening, claiming the life of a young woman. The victim, identified as Navrup Kaur, worked as a beautician and was returning home after her day's work.

The tragic event occurred near the Rasulpur bus stand. According to police officials, Navrup Kaur had just gotten off a bus and was waiting for an auto-rickshaw when two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle approached her.

Close-Range Attack and Immediate Aftermath

Without warning, the attackers opened fire. Police reports indicate the shooting was from close range, with a single bullet striking Navrup Kaur in the head. She collapsed on the spot immediately.

The assailants, taking advantage of the chaos, fled the scene on their motorcycle. Bystanders and people present at the bus stand rushed to the young woman's aid. They quickly took her to a nearby hospital for emergency medical attention.

Unfortunately, the doctors at the hospital could do little to save her. Navrup Kaur was declared dead upon arrival, her life cut short in a brutal and public attack.

The Tarn Taran police swiftly initiated an investigation into the murder. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Surendra Lamba provided a crucial update, stating that the police have already identified the boy who allegedly shot at the girl.
