Surat Industrialist's Wife Dies by Suicide Two Months After Wedding
In a tragic incident in Surat, Khyati Kejriwal (28), the wife of prominent city-based industrialist Abhishek Kejriwal, allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred at the couple's bungalow located in a society on the posh Ghod Dod Road area.
Police Investigation Underway
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) VR Malhotra provided details of the case. "Umra police received a call from Maitri Hospital on Tuesday evening where the victim had been taken after the incident," Malhotra stated. "When police reached the hospital, it was learnt that she had allegedly hanged herself with a dupatta in her bedroom."
Police have registered an accidental death report based on information provided by Ashok Kejriwal, the industrialist's father. A postmortem examination was conducted by a panel of doctors on Wednesday, with the preliminary cause of death confirmed as hanging. However, the viscera has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for further analysis to rule out any other possibilities.
No Suicide Note Found
"We have not found any suicide note so far and are investigating the circumstances that may have led her to take the extreme step," ACP Malhotra emphasized. The police investigation is actively examining all potential factors behind this tragic event.
According to police sources, members of the Kejriwal family have denied any marital disputes between the couple. As Khyati's parents and relatives were occupied with the last rites, their formal statements will be recorded later to ascertain if there were any underlying issues that might have contributed to this tragedy.
Forensic Evidence Collection
Police have taken several investigative steps:
- Seized the deceased's mobile phone for forensic examination
- Sent the mobile device to the Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis
- Conducted thorough examination of the scene of the incident
- Interviewed family members and household staff
