Chennai: The newly launched Singappen Special Force (SSF) apprehended a man on Wednesday afternoon after he entered his neighbor's house and sexually assaulted a woman. The accused was handed over to the Ayanavaram all-women police, where a case was registered before he was arrested and remanded. This case marks the first involving the SSF.
Incident Details
The accused, B Suresh, 36, a security guard employed by a private company, forced his way into his neighbor's residence around 2:30 pm and sexually assaulted the woman. The victim raised an alarm, prompting neighbors to rush to the scene and inform the police.
Swift Police Response
A team comprising sub-inspector Rajeshwari and woman police constable Deepika arrived at the location, recorded the victim's account, identified the suspect, and arrested him without delay. Chennai City Police Commissioner A Amalraj commended the SSF team for their rapid response and effective action in apprehending the accused.
