Deadly SUV Rampage in Badaun Leaves Three Dead, Two Critically Injured
In a horrific incident that unfolded on Sunday evening, a white SUV speeding at nearly 100 kilometers per hour struck multiple motorcycles along a 20-kilometer road stretch in Uttar Pradesh's Badaun district. The reckless driving spree resulted in three fatalities and left two others with critical injuries, causing widespread panic among commuters and bystanders.
Chaos Erupts in Civil Lines Area
According to eyewitness accounts, the terrifying sequence of events began around 5 PM near the congested Bahedi Mod in the Civil Lines area of Badaun. The SUV, described as white in color, first collided with a motorcycle carrying two individuals. The impact was so severe that it led to an immediate fatality and serious injuries.
Madanlal, a 50-year-old resident of Badaun's Bilsi area, recounted the traumatic experience: "We were traveling on our bike when the SUV, moving at high speed, suddenly struck our two-wheeler. The force of the collision caused us to crash into another motorcycle. My brother-in-law, Mukesh, 25, from Bareilly's Kartauli village, died on the spot, and I sustained injuries. Despite pleas from people to stop, the driver accelerated and fled the scene."
SUV Continues Its Deadly Journey
Minutes later, outside the city area on the state highway connecting Badaun to Bareilly, the same SUV reportedly struck again. This time, it knocked down 20-year-old Vishal Singh from his motorcycle and ran over him. Singh succumbed to his injuries shortly after the incident, adding to the growing death toll.
A local witness described the terrifying scene: "It appeared the SUV driver, possibly trying to escape from the earlier crash in the city, changed routes and took the state highway. The vehicle was speeding between 90 and 100 kilometers per hour... It was absolutely frightening to witness."
Third Collision at Roshan Nagar Turn
The rampage did not end there. At the Roshan Nagar turn in Badaun, another motorcycle was hit by what is believed to be the same SUV. This collision claimed the life of 55-year-old Badlu and seriously injured his friend, Shan Mohammad. The series of crashes spanned approximately 30 minutes, creating mayhem along the highway.

Local authorities have launched a thorough investigation into the incident. Police are currently reviewing all available CCTV footage along the 20 to 30-kilometer road stretch to identify and apprehend the absconding driver.
