In a shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh, Pratapgarh police have arrested a 35-year-old man for the alleged murder of his own father. The arrest was made on Friday, following a detailed investigation into a case that has sent ripples through the local community.
The Discovery and Initial Investigation
The case came to light when the body of 61-year-old Ramlakhan Yadav was discovered lying in a field at Nari village on December 29. The victim had gone to water his field a day earlier, on December 28, and never returned home. After finding the body, the Pratapgarh police swiftly formed two dedicated teams to crack the case.
Through meticulous investigation, the police zeroed in on the victim's son, Udaybhan Yadav, a resident of Baburiha (Nari) village. The evidence pointed towards his involvement, leading to his arrest.
The Motive and Confession
During interrogation, Udaybhan Yadav confessed to the crime and revealed a tragic family dispute as his motive. He stated that after his mother's death, his father brought a stepmother into their home. According to the accused, Ramlakhan Yadav fell completely under her influence.
Udaybhan claimed that his father began spending all his earnings on the stepmother, neglecting his own children. This financial neglect allegedly left Udaybhan and his siblings without money for essential needs, including school fees and even food. The accused felt that his and his children's lives had become miserable because of his father's actions.
The Act and Aftermath
Driven by this resentment, Udaybhan Yadav took a drastic step. He confessed to using a piece of old wood to hit his father on the forehead, which resulted in his immediate death. After committing the act, he hid the body in a nearby mustard field in an attempt to conceal the crime.
In a further effort to mislead the investigation, Udaybhan threw his father's phone away while returning home. He also insisted to the police that his father had sold a piece of land, which may have been another point of contention within the family.
The Pratapgarh police have successfully worked out the case, highlighting a distressing tale of familial breakdown that culminated in violence. The accused now faces legal proceedings for his alleged actions.
