Youth Brutally Killed in Sirsa Village Attack
A 30-year-old man was brutally murdered in Salamkhera village of Sirsa district, Haryana, in a violent attack linked to an old dispute, police confirmed. The victim has been identified as Gurmel Singh, a resident of Desu Jodha village in the same district.
Details of the Fatal Assault
According to police reports, the incident occurred on Sunday night. A group of six to seven assailants attacked Gurmel Singh using sharp-edged weapons. The attack was vicious, with the victim sustaining severe injuries to his head, hands, and legs.
He was initially rushed to the Sirsa civil hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the critical nature of his injuries, he was later referred to Agroha Medical College for advanced care. Tragically, Gurmel Singh succumbed to his injuries while en route to the medical college.
Police Action and Complaint
Based on a formal complaint lodged by the victim's elder brother, Harmel Singh alias Babbu, the Odhan police have registered a case. The First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under several sections of the new Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
The charges include Section 103(1) for murder, Section 191(3) for rioting while armed with a deadly weapon, and Section 190 for common intention of an unlawful assembly.
Named accused in the case are Gurwinder Singh alias Gindi from Dabwali village and Sunny, Gagandeep Singh alias Gora, Sukhwinder Singh alias Pinda, Happy, and others from Chakerian village in Sirsa district.
Background and Ongoing Investigation
In his complaint, Harmel Singh stated that his unmarried brother had gone to Salamkhera village with two friends, Ravi and Bona Singh. He later received the distressing news that Gurmel had been seriously injured in a violent clash.
Police officials stated that preliminary investigations point to a long-simmering dispute between the victim and the accused, which had been ongoing for several months. This old enmity is believed to be the primary motive behind the deadly attack.
The police have launched a thorough investigation into the matter. Teams are working to apprehend all the accused and gather further evidence. The investigation is currently underway to uncover all aspects of the case and bring the perpetrators to justice.
