SIM Card in Undergarments Helps Gurgaon Police Identify Murdered 19-Year-Old
SIM Card Helps ID Woman Found Dead in Gurgaon

A crucial piece of evidence, a SIM card discovered concealed in the upper undergarments of a deceased woman, has enabled Gurgaon police to establish her identity after her partially naked body was found at an isolated location in Manesar. The grim discovery was made last Saturday, December 13, near Pachgaon.

How the Victim Was Identified

The breakthrough in the case came from the SIM card found tucked in the woman's clothing. This led the investigation team from Manesar police station to trace her identity. She has been identified as 19-year-old Sushila from Etah in Uttar Pradesh. According to police officials, she had recently arrived in the city in search of employment opportunities.

Details of the Crime Scene and Investigation

The woman's body was discovered in the afternoon amidst scattered bricks and debris near Dheeraj Dharmkanta on Baghanki Road. Her lower body was partially unclothed, and rope marks were visible on her neck, immediately raising suspicions of sexual assault and strangulation. Police, however, have stated that the exact cause of death and confirmation of assault will only be determined after the autopsy report is received.

Local residents spotted the body in an open plot around noon and informed the authorities. The police promptly cordoned off the area and called in a forensic science team. Initial investigations suggest that the woman was likely killed elsewhere and her body was later dumped at the isolated spot. No personal belongings or identity documents were recovered from the scene apart from the crucial SIM card.

Police Probe and Victim's Background

Investigations have revealed that Sushila had a prior connection to the city. A couple of years ago, she lived in Gurgaon with her brother before they both moved back to their native village. It is believed that she returned to Gurgaon approximately a month ago without informing her family members.

The police have launched a multi-pronged investigation. Multiple teams, including the crime branch, are now working on the case. Officers are scanning CCTV footage from nearby roads to track potential suspects and trace the victim's last known movements. A senior officer involved in the probe said they are verifying all details and await the postmortem report to determine the exact sequence of events. The search for the main accused is currently underway.
