Shepherd Allegedly Murders Younger Brother in Gruesome Love Rivalry Case
In a shocking incident from Karnataka's Gadag district, a 21-year-old shepherd has been accused of murdering his own younger brother over a romantic dispute. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Fakirappa, was engaged to a girl whom his elder brother, Ashok Irappa, also wished to marry.
Details of the Tragic Incident
The crime occurred on Tuesday in a sugarcane field on the outskirts of Hirekoppa village, located in Nargund taluk. According to police reports, both brothers hailed from Chikkamulangi village in Ramadurga taluk, Belagavi district. They were staying together with their sheep at the field when the alleged murder took place.
Nargund police, who visited the scene and registered a case, revealed that Ashok used a massive boulder weighing approximately 26 kilograms to attack his brother. The assault resulted in severe bleeding, and Fakirappa died on the spot from his injuries.
Police Investigation and Confession
Initially, Ashok attempted to mislead authorities by claiming that an unknown assailant had murdered his brother. However, police officers became suspicious of his behavior during their investigation.
"We detained him for interrogation due to his suspicious conduct," explained investigating officers. "During questioning, Ashok confessed to the crime. He admitted that he wanted to marry the same girl to whom his brother was engaged. He also revealed that they had fought over this issue just the night before the murder."
The police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations into the matter. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting how personal disputes can escalate into violent crimes.
