Armed Robbers Snatch Rs 25 Lakh from Cattle Traders in Supaul
In a brazen daylight robbery, two cattle traders were robbed of Rs 25 lakh at gunpoint by motorcycle-borne miscreants in Supaul district on Wednesday morning. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local business community and raised serious security concerns.
Details of the Terrifying Incident
The robbery occurred around 7am on the Bus Stand-Hussain Chowk link road in ward number 22 under the Sadar police station area. The victims, identified as Nawab and Shahjad alias Munna, were walking toward the Singheshwar cattle market in Madhepura district when two robbers approached them.
The criminals first hurled abuses at the traders, then brandished a pistol and snatched the bag containing the substantial amount of money. The entire incident happened approximately 200 meters from the traders' rented accommodation in the Kamleshwar locality.
Background of the Affected Traders
According to police information, both traders are tenants in Md Shahzad's house in Husain Chowk within the Sadar police station area. Originally residents of Joli village under Bhopa police station area in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh, they have been living in Supaul for more than a decade.
During their time in Bihar, they have conducted business across various cattle markets in Saharsa, Madhepura, and Supaul districts, establishing themselves as regular participants in the regional livestock trade.
Police Response and Investigation
Supaul Superintendent of Police Sharath R S provided details about the sequence of events: "Shahzad, the cattle trader, left the house early morning with his relative Nawab. The incident occurred at a distance of about 200 metres from their room near Kamleshwar locality. The miscreants first hurled abuses, then showed weapons and fled with the bag containing money."
Sadar Station House Officer Ramsevak Rawat outlined the investigative approach: "A probe is being conducted based on technical evidence to identify the criminals by examining CCTV footage. They will be arrested soon."
The police have registered a formal case and are pursuing multiple investigative angles to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this high-value armed robbery.
