Rs 2 Lakh Reward for Missing Ranchi Siblings

Jharkhand Police has dramatically increased the reward for information about two missing siblings from Ranchi. The police now offer Rs 2 lakh for any details leading to the recovery of Ansh Kumar, aged 5, and his sister Anshika Kumari, aged 4.

Children Vanished After Grocery Store Visit

The young brother and sister went missing on January 2 from the Dhurwa area. They had gone to a local grocery store and never returned home. Their disappearance has triggered a massive search operation across the state.

Police Boost Reward Fourfold

Senior Police Officer Paras Rana confirmed the reward hike. "We have increased the reward amount from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh for information about the two kids," stated Rana. This significant increase aims to encourage public cooperation in the case.

High-Level Meetings Intensify Search

Manoj Kaushik, the Additional Director General of CID, convened a crucial meeting with Ranchi police officials. The meeting assessed the progress of the investigation so far. Child rights groups and activists also attended this high-level session.

During the meeting, police officials made a direct appeal to these groups. They requested the activists to activate their national networks to help trace the missing children. This collaborative approach seeks to widen the search beyond state borders.

Nationwide Legal Network Activated

The Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority has now stepped into the search. Acting on directions from Jharkhand High Court Judge Justice S N Prasad, Secretary Ranjana Asthana sent letters to all State Legal Services Authorities in India.

These letters request assistance in locating the missing siblings. The appeal asks legal authorities to utilize their district legal services committees and para-legal volunteers. These volunteers possess extensive grassroots networks that could prove invaluable in the search.

Police Departments Across India Alerted

The Criminal Investigation Department of Jharkhand has taken additional measures. CID officials sent formal requests to all Director Generals of Police across the country. These requests ask for immediate notification if the children appear in any police jurisdiction nationwide.

Union Minister Visits Grieving Family

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi visited the affected family members on Monday. The minister expressed deep concern over the children's disappearance in the state capital.

"If the children are not safe in the state capital, then it raises a serious question mark over law and order in Jharkhand," Devi stated during her visit. Her comments highlight growing concerns about child safety in the region.

The search for Ansh and Anshika continues with increased intensity. Police maintain hope that the enhanced reward and expanded search network will yield crucial information soon.
