The victim is an eighth-grade student at the village school, and the accused hails from the same locality. According to preliminary reports, the girl had been subjected to regular harassment by the accused. On Wednesday, while returning home from school, the accused allegedly took her to his house and assaulted her. At the time of the incident, the accused's family members were not present at home, which facilitated the alleged crime.
After reaching her own home, the girl narrated the entire harrowing ordeal to her mother. Overwhelmed by distress, she then consumed a toilet-cleaning chemical in an apparent suicide attempt. "She consumed the chemical in a suicide attempt," said a relative, who spoke on condition of anonymity, underscoring the severe emotional impact of the assault.
