Sharma had left his house on Wednesday afternoon to visit his daughter's residence when the attack took place. While passing through a lane near his home, he was suddenly assaulted by his neighbour, Mohan Tanwar, who reportedly struck him with a stick.

The attack left Sharma with serious injuries. Local residents who witnessed or became aware of the incident promptly informed his family members. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital for emergency medical treatment.
