Ranchi Civil Court Under Heightened Security After Bomb Threat Email
For the second consecutive day on Saturday, Ranchi police executed an extensive security sweep of the Ranchi civil court premises. This heightened vigilance was triggered by a threatening email received by authorities, which warned of an impending explosion using RDX explosives scheduled for February 4th.
Intensive Search Operation Yields No Suspicious Findings
Personnel from the Jharkhand Armed Police, supported by specialized bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units, meticulously combed through various sections of the court complex. Despite the thorough inspection, no suspicious materials or devices were discovered during the operation.
City Superintendent of Police Paras Rana addressed the media, stating, "An intensive search of the court was conducted today. This security exercise will be conducted frequently in the future as well to ensure public safety." The police have officially registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against unidentified individuals in connection with the threatening email.
Additionally, cybercrime investigation teams are actively working to trace the origin of the email and identify the sender. This digital forensic effort is running parallel to the physical security measures being implemented at the court premises.
Ranchi Lawyers Protest Alleged Police Misconduct
Simultaneously, members of the Ranchi District Bar Association (RDBA) continued their protest against alleged misbehavior by Mahesh Munda, the officer-in-charge of the SC/ST police station. The controversy stems from an incident involving two women advocates, which has sparked widespread condemnation from the legal community.
Thousands of advocates participated in the protest by wearing black badges while working in the court, symbolizing their disapproval of the alleged incident. RDBA secretary Sanjay Kumar Vidrohi expressed the legal fraternity's demands clearly: "We are seeking immediate action against the concerned officer. Our agitation will intensify if this demand is not met promptly."
Vidrohi further challenged the police narrative, stating, "The police are attempting to blame the women advocates for the incident. I demand that the authorities release the CCTV footage of the event on social media platforms to ensure transparency and allow the public to see what actually transpired."
The dual developments have created a tense atmosphere in Ranchi's legal and security circles, with authorities balancing threat response protocols while addressing allegations of misconduct within their own ranks. The situation remains under close observation as both investigations progress.
