Rajkot Man Takes His Own Life After Alleged Pressure to Join Murder Plot
In a tragic incident from Rajkot, a 47-year-old man died by suicide nearly ten months ago. His death followed alleged harassment by his landlady and her brother. The harassment stemmed from their attempts to force him into a sinister plot to eliminate the landlady's husband.
Formal Complaint Lodged by Grieving Wife
The deceased's wife, Kajal, filed a formal complaint against the siblings on Monday. She identified her husband as Nilesh Hindocha. According to the complaint, Nilesh consumed poison on April 18 last year in Satodad village. He later died at the Jamkandorna government hospital.
Sinister Plot for Insurance Money
The complaint reveals a disturbing alleged motive. Landlady Dharmishta Panchani and her brother Jaydeep were reportedly plotting to kill Dharmishta's husband. Their goal was to claim a one crore rupee insurance sum. They allegedly pressured Nilesh Hindocha to participate in this plot, promising him a share of the money.
Nilesh repeatedly refused their offer. He stated clearly that he did not engage in criminal activities. He also mentioned that his dairy business was running well at the time.
Harassment Over Business Loan Repayment
After his refusal, the situation escalated. The siblings allegedly began harassing Nilesh for repayment of a loan. Around two years prior, Nilesh had rented a house in Khambhala village from Jaydeep for his dairy business. The monthly rent was fifteen thousand rupees. In 2024, he borrowed two lakh rupees from the siblings for business needs and had repaid one lakh.
The harassment focused on demanding the remaining one lakh rupees. Dharmishta Panchani reportedly showed Nilesh a photograph of her husband during this period. She explained a so-called "friendship pact" to kill him in a staged accident for the insurance claim.
Business Locked and Final Warning
The alleged harassment took a severe turn. The siblings locked the dairy plant, accusing Nilesh of not paying rent on time. Kajal stated that her husband warned them. He said if they did not reopen the plant, he might take poison. They allegedly did not take his warning seriously.
Final Day and Suicide Note
On April 18, Nilesh left home saying he was going to meet a lawyer and then visit the dairy plant. Later that day, he sent a suicide note via WhatsApp to his wife, their daughter, and his business partner Bhargav Bhadra.
During a video call with his daughter, Nilesh was seen vomiting. This helped his family trace his location. He was rushed to the Jamkandorna government hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The case highlights extreme pressure and alleged criminal coercion leading to a personal tragedy. The police are now investigating the formal complaint filed by Kajal Hindocha.
