Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau Nabs Three in Separate Bribery Stings

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan conducted two decisive trap operations on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of three individuals accused of accepting bribes totaling Rs 3.10 lakh. The arrests occurred in the districts of Didwana-Kuchaman and Chittorgarh, marking a significant crackdown on corruption at the local governance level.

Sarpanch Apprehended in Didwana-Kuchaman District

In the first case, the ACB's Jaipur Rural unit arrested Rajendra Prasad Moyal, who serves as the administrator (sarpanch) of Bajwas Gram Panchayat under the Parbatsar panchayat samiti in Didwana-Kuchaman district. The arrest was made while Moyal was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.

According to Director General of ACB Govind Gupta, the complainant had supplied materials to the gram panchayat during the 2024–25 financial year and received payment for the same. However, his security deposit of Rs 2 lakh was not returned despite multiple applications. After the complainant escalated the matter through the Raj Sampark Portal, the pending amount was finally released on January 27. Subsequently, the accused sarpanch allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh as illegal gratification for facilitating the return of the security deposit.

Following thorough verification of the complaint, the ACB laid a trap on February 5 at Sanchor Chauraha. The operation, conducted under the supervision of DIG Anil Kayal and Additional SP Sunil Siyag, led to the red-handed arrest of the sarpanch while he was accepting the bribe.

Two Officials Caught in Chittorgarh District

In a separate and simultaneous operation, the ACB Chittorgarh unit arrested two officials from Gram Panchayat Sinhpur under the Kapasan panchayat samiti. The arrested individuals are Paras Ram Vishnoi, the village development officer, and Babu Lal Sharma, the junior assistant.

ACB officials revealed that the complainant had executed development works worth Rs 12.80 lakh for the gram panchayat. The two accused officials allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 2.10 lakh for the online feeding and payment of seven pending bills related to works completed in May and June 2025.

Acting promptly on the complaint, the ACB set up a trap and successfully caught both accused red-handed. The bribe amount was recovered as Rs 70,000 in cash and Rs 1.40 lakh via a cheque, totaling Rs 2.10 lakh.

Legal Proceedings and Ongoing Investigation

In both cases, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has initiated legal action by registering cases under the stringent Prevention of Corruption Act. ACB officials have confirmed that further investigation is actively underway to uncover any additional details or potential accomplices involved in these corrupt practices.

These arrests underscore the ACB's continued vigilance and commitment to eradicating corruption from public offices in Rajasthan. The operations highlight the bureau's effective use of trap mechanisms and technological tools like the Raj Sampark Portal to address grievances and combat illegal activities.
