During the assault, the attackers used sticks, axes, and stones, resulting in grievous injuries to Sharanabasava. He was initially admitted to the Lingasugur Government Hospital for emergency care but was later shifted to a hospital in Bagalkot for more advanced treatment. Despite medical efforts, Sharanabasava succumbed to his injuries during treatment, highlighting the severity of the attack.
