On Tuesday night, they located and apprehended the accused, identified as Nitin Patil, at Kate Vasti in the Punawale area of Pune. According to Assistant Inspector Deshmukh, the police were alerted to a situation where Patil was allegedly threatening people with a firearm. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Patil had targeted his wife and her sister. His wife operates a mess in Punawale, and on the night of the incident, Patil demanded that she shut down her business and return to Solapur district.

When Patil's sister-in-law, who resides nearby, attempted to intervene and reason with him, he responded by brandishing the pistol and threatening her directly. His wife tried to defuse the situation, but Patil turned his aggression towards her as well, issuing threats and hurling abuses. The confrontation escalated, causing fear among bystanders who quickly notified the police, leading to his immediate arrest.

Criminal Background and Ongoing Cases

Assistant Inspector Deshmukh provided further insights into Patil's criminal record, noting that he has multiple previous cases registered against him with the Solapur police, including a serious charge of murder. Currently, Patil is evading authorities in connection with a case filed under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act with the Solapur police, highlighting his status as a fugitive from justice.

Legal Proceedings and Custody

Following his arrest, the police formally produced Nitin Patil before the court. The judicial authorities reviewed the case and remanded him to police custody for a period of two days to facilitate further investigation and gather additional evidence related to the firearm possession and threats.
