IT Professional Stabbed in Shocking Pune Road Rage
A senior IT consultant, aged 35, became the victim of a brutal stabbing in Pune's Kharadi area on Wednesday evening. The violent altercation erupted from a minor traffic incident where the mirrors of his scooter and a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) brushed against each other.
From Minor Scratch to Violent Assault
The victim, a consultant with a prominent software firm who also conducts private tuition classes in Kharadi, was on his way to teach students. The argument began after the SUV driver stopped his vehicle and began verbally abusing the consultant. The situation rapidly escalated when the SUV driver exited his four-wheeler and started physically assaulting the IT professional.
When the victim tried to defend himself, a woman accompanying the SUV driver also got out of the car. She joined the attack, allegedly abusing and beating the consultant. The confrontation took a terrifying turn when the victim questioned their aggression, asking why he was being beaten for a fault that was not his. In response, the man rushed back to the SUV, retrieved a knife, and stabbed the consultant under his right shoulder, inflicting a serious rib injury.
Police Hunt for Accused Duo
After the stabbing, the assailant and the woman fled the scene in the SUV. The injured consultant managed to reach a private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. The Kharadi police registered a case on Thursday under sections 115 and 118 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertain to causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.
Senior Inspector Sanjay Chavan of the Kharadi police confirmed that the SUV driver has been identified. The accused is reportedly from a neighbouring taluka and is currently not at home. Inspector Chavan assured the public, stating, "We will arrest him soon." The police are actively searching for both the man and his female companion based on the description provided by the victim during his hospital statement.
