A tragic hit-and-run accident on the Pune-Nagar highway has claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy and left his mother injured. The incident occurred near Shikrapur, approximately 35 kilometers from Pune city, on Tuesday evening.

The victim, identified as Rudra Kharpude, was riding pillion on a scooter driven by his mother, Hemlata. They were returning to their home in Shikrapur from the boy's tuition class around 8 pm on Tuesday. According to officers from the Shikrapur police, a tractor violently collided with their two-wheeler on the highway.
The impact caused both Rudra and his mother to fall onto the road. Rudra sustained severe injuries to his head, face, and neck. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital by locals, but doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. Hemlata suffered injuries to her legs in the accident and is receiving treatment.
Driver Flees, Police Launch Case
