According to senior inspector Shashikant Chavan of the Khadak police, the couple assisted Tushar in cleaning blood stains from the crime scene and destroying crucial evidence, complicating the initial probe.

On the night of January 28, Tupsundar took his wife to Sassoon Hospital for treatment, claiming she had sustained a head injury from a fall. The medical report also indicated fresh injuries on other parts of her body, raising further suspicions.
