Prayagraj Road Accidents: Two Minors Killed, Seven Injured in Separate Tragic Incidents

In a series of devastating events on Monday, two minors lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries in three separate road accidents across Prayagraj's Naini and Koraon areas, according to police reports. The tragic incidents have highlighted serious concerns about road safety, particularly near educational institutions.

First Accident: 10-Year-Old Girl Mowed Down Near School

The first tragedy unfolded in the Naini area on Monday morning. A 10-year-old girl was fatally struck by a speeding dumper near Bethany Convent School while she was on her way to attend classes. Police investigation revealed that the girl's maternal uncle was transporting her to school on his motorcycle when the vehicle apparently skidded, causing her to fall onto the road.

Before anyone could react, a speeding dumper approaching from behind ran over the young girl, resulting in her immediate death at the scene. The dumper driver abandoned the vehicle a short distance away and managed to escape from the location. The incident triggered significant public outrage among local residents and guardians.

Enraged by the accident, family members of the deceased, local residents, and other guardians blocked vehicular movement on the busy Prayagraj Mirzapur Road in protest. A police team from Naini eventually pacified the agitators and arranged for the victim's body to be sent for postmortem examination.

Second Accident: High School Student Killed Near Exam Center

In a separate incident within the Koraon police station jurisdiction, a 16-year-old high school student lost his life while two companions sustained injuries when their motorcycle was struck by a speeding dumper near Sikro village on Monday. The trio was traveling to appear for an examination when the tragic collision occurred.

Third Accident: Five Students Injured in Bus-Truck Collision

Adding to the day's tragedies, five students heading to appear for a high school examination suffered injuries when the bus transporting them collided with a speeding truck near Beruai village on Monday. All injured students were receiving treatment at a local hospital and were reported to be in stable condition.

These consecutive accidents have raised urgent questions about traffic management, vehicle speed regulation, and safety measures around educational institutions in the region. The incidents occurred despite ongoing efforts to improve road safety infrastructure and awareness campaigns.

Local authorities have initiated investigations into all three cases, with particular focus on identifying the drivers of the speeding vehicles involved in the fatal accidents. The police are examining whether proper traffic regulations were being followed in these areas and what preventive measures can be implemented to avoid similar tragedies in the future.
