Prayagraj Police Crack Down on Inter-District Robbery Gang, Apprehend Three Suspects
In a significant breakthrough, the Kaushambi police in Prayagraj successfully busted an inter-district robbers' gang on Friday, leading to the arrest of three of its key members. The arrests are linked to a loot incident that occurred near the Sisiyawa crossing, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Charwa police station.
Details of the Arrested Individuals and Seized Items
The police have identified the arrested persons as Sanjay, Ashu, and Alman, also known as Arman, all residents of Puramufti. During the operation, law enforcement officials seized a substantial amount of evidence, including a country-made pistol of 0.315 bore along with a live cartridge, a bag, a mobile phone, silver ornaments, a bike, and an ATM card. These items are believed to be connected to the criminal activities of the gang.
Background of the Loot Incident
The gang's involvement came to light following a loot incident on February 21, where four miscreants on two bikes targeted Ramesh Singh and his wife. The couple was returning to Sayyad Sarawa from a function when they were robbed of cash, jewellery, and a mobile phone. According to police reports, the arrested individuals confessed to selling the stolen jewellery and distributing Rs 12,000 each among themselves from the proceeds.
This operation marks a crucial step in curbing inter-district criminal activities in the region, with authorities continuing their investigation to uncover further details and possibly apprehend additional gang members.
