Tragic Death in Prayagraj Over Public Urination Dispute
In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the community, a 45-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death after he objected to wedding guests urinating near his residence in the Naini area of Prayagraj district. Police authorities confirmed the distressing details on Friday, revealing that the altercation escalated into a fatal assault.
Police Response and Initial Findings
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Karchhana) Sunil Kumar stated that law enforcement received an urgent call on the emergency helpline 112 late on Thursday night. The call reported a violent scuffle outside a banquet hall located in Madauka, where a man had been subjected to a brutal attack. Officers promptly rushed to the scene near Sanjay Guest House, where they discovered the victim, identified as Rajesh Nishad, a local resident.
At the time of the incident, a wedding ceremony for the daughter of Nanku Chaurasia was in progress at the venue. According to ACP Kumar, some members of the wedding procession were allegedly urinating in close proximity to Nishad's house. When Nishad raised objections to this inappropriate behavior, a heated argument erupted, quickly spiraling out of control.
Escalation and Fatal Consequences
The situation turned violent when the accused individuals allegedly attacked Nishad with an iron rod. The assault left him with severe injuries, and he was immediately transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, doctors were unable to save his life and declared him dead upon arrival. The body has since been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and gather further forensic evidence.
Legal Action and Arrests
In response to a formal complaint filed by the victim's grieving family, police have registered a case against twelve named individuals. Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Kumar confirmed that six of the accused have been apprehended so far. Among those arrested is the main accused, Sunil Kanojia, who is a police constable posted in Mau district. Kanojia had traveled to Prayagraj to attend his cousin's wedding, which tragically became the backdrop for this violent episode.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to locate and arrest the remaining six accused. This case highlights serious concerns about public behavior and safety, prompting calls for increased vigilance and community cooperation to prevent such tragedies in the future.
