The incident occurred near Sangam Lower Chauraha in Sector 5, within the jurisdiction of the Jhunsi Police Station. Chief Fire Officer Animesh Singh, who oversees the Magh Mela area, provided details about the emergency response. He stated that authorities received an alert about the fire at approximately 5:45 PM. A two-wheeler fire vehicle stationed on duty was immediately dispatched to the location.
Within minutes, six additional fire service vehicles arrived at the scene. Firefighting operations commenced promptly, allowing crews to contain the blaze effectively. The quick action ensured that the fire did not extend to other tents in the vicinity.

Officials are currently investigating the origin of the fire. Initial reports suggest that power fluctuations may have led to a short circuit, sparking the flames. However, local residents have also mentioned the possibility of a burning diya as a contributing factor.
