Uttarakhand Police Crack Daylight Murder Case of Jharkhand Gangster in Dehradun

In a significant development in the investigation of the brazen daylight murder of 54-year-old Jharkhand gangster Vikram Sharma, the Uttarakhand police announced on Saturday that they have successfully unraveled the entire conspiracy and identified all three assailants involved in the Friday morning shooting. The breakthrough comes after intensive probe efforts following the shocking incident in Dehradun.

Jail-Based Conspiracy and Extortion Money Dispute Revealed

A senior police officer at the police headquarters, who is closely monitoring the investigation, disclosed that Sharma was "killed on the directions of gangster Akhilesh Singh", who is currently incarcerated at Dumka Central Jail in Jharkhand. Interestingly, Sharma had previously mentored Singh, helping him establish his position within the criminal network. The officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that "a dispute over the sharing of extortion money" served as the primary motive for the murder.

Since Singh remains imprisoned, Sharma allegedly began siphoning off a larger share of the extortion proceeds, which infuriated the jailed gangster. This financial disagreement had previously led Singh to attempt eliminating Sharma during his visit to Jharkhand two months ago, though that attempt proved unsuccessful. The officer emphasized that the Friday attack represented Singh's successful second attempt to eliminate his former mentor over the same monetary dispute.

Victim's Criminal Background and Dehradun Lifestyle

Vikram Sharma, who faced charges in more than 50 criminal cases including the high-profile 2007 murder of Sreeleathers co-owner Ashish Dey in Jamshedpur, was out on bail at the time of his killing. He had been residing in a rented apartment in Dehradun for over a year and maintained a regular routine of visiting a gym located inside a shopping complex on Rajpur Road. The assailants targeted him precisely as he stepped out of this gym on Friday morning, executing their plan with chilling precision.

Assailants Identified and Escape Route Traced

The investigating officer confirmed that police have not only identified all three accused individuals but have also meticulously traced their escape route from the crime scene. "After making their getaway on a motorbike, the perpetrators reached Haridwar and checked into a hotel for several hours before boarding a train to exit the state", the officer explained. Authorities have assured that arrests are imminent now that the suspects have been positively identified.

Forensic analysis of the crime scene revealed that Sharma was shot in the head from behind at point-blank range, indicating the attackers were highly professional and intended to leave absolutely no chance of survival. This execution-style killing demonstrates the calculated nature of the attack and the determination behind it.

Official Confirmation and Inter-State Coordination

When contacted for comment, Uttarakhand Director General of Police Deepam Seth declined to share specific operational details due to the ongoing investigation but confirmed crucial aspects of the case. "We can confirm that the motive behind the murder has been firmly established and the shooters, who hail from Jharkhand, have been identified", Seth stated. He further revealed that Uttarakhand Special Task Force teams are actively coordinating with their counterparts in Jharkhand to ensure the earliest possible arrest of all accused individuals involved in this interstate criminal conspiracy.

The police investigation continues to develop as authorities work to apprehend the identified assailants and build a comprehensive case around the jail-orchestrated murder plot that unfolded in the streets of Dehradun.
