In a significant crackdown, the Anupshahr police in collaboration with the Bulandshahr district SWAT team has successfully apprehended five individuals involved in a high-stakes robbery at a local trader's residence. The criminals had gained entry by posing as officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Acting on a crucial tip-off, a joint operation was launched on December 31. The police team managed to capture all five accused. The law enforcement officials made a substantial recovery from the arrested individuals, which included:
- Looted gold and silver jewellery.

Notably, Indrapal and Yakesh were already wanted fugitives with cash rewards of Rs 25,000 each on their heads. Inside Job and Criminal Histories Revealed
According to Additional Director General (ADG) of Meerut zone, Bhanu Bhaskar, the audacious dacoity took place on December 19. The gang used the false pretense of being CBI officials to enter the trader's home before making off with cash and jewellery.
During interrogation, the key accused, Indrapal, disclosed that after being released on bail on December 12, he arrived in Anupshahr. Facing financial pressure, he contacted Sanjay Sharma, who worked as a tractor driver for the targeted trader. Sanjay provided critical inside information about the presence of a large sum of money at his employer's residence, which paved the way for the robbery.
ADG Bhaskar emphasized that all the arrested individuals are hardened criminals with extensive records. Their criminal histories span multiple districts and states and include serious charges such as dacoity, gang activity, illegal arms possession, and other violent crimes.
Operation and Legal Proceedings
The meticulously planned operation was executed by the Anupshahr police team under the leadership of Inspector Dharmendra Kumar Sharma, with vital support from the SWAT team commanded by Inspector Mohammad Aslam.
A formal case has been registered at the Anupshahr police station. Following the arrests, all five accused have been remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues to uncover further details of their criminal network.
