A person facing a Pocso case allegedly ended his life by suicide in the toilet of Dharwad Central Jail on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Basavaraj Kumbar, 29. Sources in the jail reported that he was found dead in the toilet.
Police Response
Suburban police rushed to the spot and assessed the situation. They reviewed the circumstances within the jail. Officials stated, "The body was sent to the district hospital, and we are awaiting the post-mortem report. A case has been registered, and an investigation has been launched into the death.
